1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or using any digital environment hosted by Nexus Connect (“Nexus Connect”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), including website interfaces located at nexusconnect.live or accompanying institutional system endpoints, you (“User”, “School”, or “Administrator”) agree to conform cleanly with these Terms of Service. If you do not accept these policies, you must immediately halt platform utilization.
2. Account Security & Restricted Access
Administrative profiles generated through Clerk are allocated exclusively to recognized academic representatives, instructors, or assigned student designees working under direct campus oversight. Administrators assume total accountability for safeguarding associated sign-in tokens, login addresses, and passwords.
Administrators are strictly prohibited from distributing master profile details or administrative platform access links to the general student populace. Any unauthorized platform actions or structural updates occurring due to a failure to lock down administrative access keys remain the sole liability of the registering School entity.
3. Event Completion, Data Saving, and Retention Liability
Administrators acknowledge and agree that Nexus Connect sessions process data dynamically at the edge. Upon the conclusion of an event, the school administrator is provided a explicit choice to either save or discard the event's data (including temporary student leaderboards, scores, and random usernames).
- Discarded Events: If the administrator elects not to save the event, or closes the session without saving, all session data is immediately and permanently purged from our platform. Nexus Connect has no operational pathway to recover, reconstruct, or retrieve lost data from an unsaved or discarded session.
- Saved Events: If the administrator elects to save the event, the data will be archived in the school's private administrative dashboard, where it can be reviewed, exported as a CSV file, or deleted at any time.
It is the sole responsibility of the school administrator to properly manage and finalize their session choices. Nexus Connect assumes no liability for the accidental or intentional loss of event results, leaderboards, or student interaction metrics resulting from an administrator's failure to actively save a completed session.
4. User-Generated Content & Staff Consent
By uploading image files, visual materials, or photo records into Nexus Connect asset libraries (specifically for systems like Mascot Hunt, Yearbook, or Name Game), the School guarantees and documents that:
- The School maintains complete legal permissions or structural allowances to employ and display the selected asset properties.
- The media properties do not breach copyright, trademark parameters, or identity protections of any third-party entity.
- Specific to Faculty & Staff Photos: The School has obtained clear, lawful authorization from any instructor, leader, or community person whose likeness is published to the system for school guessing routines.
Nexus Connect processes content exclusively as a technical hosting layer. We preserve full operational choice, without receiving systemic duty, to review visual libraries and may instantly strip away assets evaluated as hazardous, explicit, or failing standard local educational criteria.
The School agrees to defend, protect, and hold harmless Nexus Connect against any legal claims, liabilities, damages, or costs erupting from an actionable failure of this subsection, including occurrences indicating uploaded visual assets compromised an individual's personal identity or ownership protections.
5. Billing, Subscriptions, and Invoicing
Subscriptions are activated and processed through Stripe Checkout. By confirming a paid subscription plan, you authorize Nexus Connect (via Stripe) to record fees on an annual processing loop unless a formalized account adjustment request is set before a renewal milestone publishes.
For organizations utilizing specialized manual invoices, obligations are resolved cleanly through our secure Stripe tracking system. Invoices carry a strict thirty (30) day payment window from the date issued unless alternative timelines are signed in formal writing. Nexus Connect retains complete authority to halt account tiers or pull down application dashboards if an invoice exceeds late boundaries. All processed transactions remain non-refundable except where protected by specific statutory provisions.
Email Sign-In Add-On. The optional Email Sign-In feature (see Section 2 of our Privacy Policy) is billed separately from your base subscription plan as the "Nexus Connect SSO Addon," at ten dollars ($10) per year, and renews annually through the same Stripe billing system described above until cancelled. This add-on is independent of your plan tier and may be added to or removed from an eligible account without changing your base subscription. Enabling this add-on does not itself activate Email Sign-In for your students — activation additionally requires Nexus Connect to configure the feature for your school, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. System Integrity & Anti-Tampering Rules
Any efforts by users (including student participants) to break down, scam, or manipulate game code bounds are strictly forbidden. Users agree never to build or deploy data scraping bots, automation triggers, tap scripts, or custom scoring proxies to inject unnatural reaction responses into interactive games like Mascot Hunt.
Intercepting, spoofing, or fabricating live network streaming connections, platform application interfaces (APIs), or application endpoints directly facing *.nexusconnect.live assets will prompt instant permanent environment ban steps.
Because student participants are, by default, anonymous and identified only by temporary auto-generated usernames, administrators acknowledge that individual usernames cannot be isolated or selectively removed mid-session. (For schools that have separately enabled the optional Email Sign-In add-on described in Section 5, a student's participation is instead tied to their verified school account, but the same limitation applies: individual participants still cannot be isolated or removed mid-session through the app interface.) In the event that a live session or leaderboard is disrupted by technical manipulation or bad-faith activity, the administrator's sole remedy within the app interface is to reset or restart the live game session. Nexus Connect assumes no liability for social or logistical disruptions during an event resulting from leaderboard tampering or the subsequent necessity of a session reset.
7. Governing Law and Severability
These Terms are organized and interpreted according to the localized regulations under which Nexus Connect handles core governance. If a specific structural clause of these Terms is evaluated as non-binding by a court of law, that pinpoint item will be adapted to reflect true intent, leaving the remaining sections active with full functional force.
