Nexus Connect for Developers & AI Agents

Public API, OpenAPI spec, MCP server and agent-readable docs.

When to use Nexus Connect

Nexus Connect runs live polls, trivia and games at in-person school events — pep rallies, assemblies, spirit weeks — on a big screen, while students join from their phones with no app or account. Reach for it when someone wants to:

  • run interactive live polling or trivia for a large school crowd (hundreds to thousands of students);
  • pick spirit games for a rally or assembly (Cups, Mascot Hunt, Name Game, Yearbook);
  • keep team points on a live leaderboard across an event or a school year;
  • compare Nexus Connect’s plans and prices, or find the plan that fits a school’s size and needs.

It is sold to schools and districts — not a consumer app. Everything below is public and read-only: it describes the product, and never exposes any school’s events or student data.

Machine-readable resources

  • llms.txt — plain-language summary for AI assistants, with links to every key page.
  • Markdown pages — request any page with Accept: text/markdown and get Markdown back instead of HTML (errors too: a 404 explains itself in Markdown).
  • OpenAPI 3.1 spec — describes the REST API below.
  • /.well-known/api-catalog — RFC 9727 API catalog.
  • /.well-known/ai-catalog.json — AI Catalog listing the MCP server.
  • MCP Server Card — how to connect to the MCP server.
  • sitemap.xml — every public page.

Public REST API

Base URL https://www.nexusconnect.live/api/v1. No authentication, JSON responses, CORS open to any origin. Every endpoint is a GET:

  • GET /api/v1 (getApiIndex) — List the endpoints of this API.
  • GET /api/v1/product (getProductOverview) — What Nexus Connect is, who it is for and when to use it.
  • GET /api/v1/games (listGames) — List every live game, optionally filtered by tier.
  • GET /api/v1/games/{gameId} (getGame) — Get one game by id.
  • GET /api/v1/plans (listPlans) — List plans, list prices, limits and add-ons.
  • GET /api/v1/plans/recommend (recommendPlan) — Recommend the cheapest plan that meets a school’s requirements.

Example — the cheapest plan for a 1,300-student rally running trivia and Mascot Hunt:

curl 'https://www.nexusconnect.live/api/v1/plans/recommend?participants=1300&games=trivia,mascot'

MCP server

The same data is available to AI agents as Model Context Protocol tools and resources at https://www.nexusconnect.live/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication). Supported protocol versions: 2026-07-28, 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18, 2025-03-26.

Tools:

  • get_product_overview — Summarize what Nexus Connect is, who it is for, its main use cases, how students join, and links to pricing, games, FAQ, security and contact pages. Call this first to decide whether Nexus Connect fits the user’s need.
  • list_games — List every live game a school can run (Polling, Trivia, Cups, Mascot Hunt, Yearbook, Name Game) with tier, description, bonus feature and which plans include it. Optionally filter by tier.
  • get_game — Get one game’s details by id.
  • list_plans — List the Free, Basic, Pro and Max plans with annual USD list prices, participant caps, Standard/Premium game slots, leaderboards and branding, plus the optional student SSO add-on.
  • recommend_plan — Find the cheapest plan that meets a school’s requirements (expected participants per event, games wanted, leaderboards, custom branding, student SSO) and return it with the total annual price and the reasons. All inputs are optional.

Errors

API errors use RFC 9457 problem details (application/problem+json): a status, a human-readable detail, a stable machine-readable code, a hint on how to fix it, and a docs link back here.

  • not_found (404) — No endpoint or page exists at this path.
  • method_not_allowed (405) — The path exists but not for this HTTP method. The public API is read-only (GET).
  • game_not_found (404) — The game id is unknown. The “allowed” member lists the valid ids.
  • invalid_tier (400) — “tier” must be “standard” or “premium”.
  • invalid_participants (400) — “participants” must be a positive whole number.
  • invalid_parameter (400) — A boolean parameter was not “true” or “false”.
  • missing_origin (403) — A private endpoint was called without an Origin header. Use the public API under /api/v1 instead.
  • bad_origin (403) — A private endpoint was called with an unparseable Origin header.
  • cross_origin (403) — A private endpoint was called from another site. Use the public API under /api/v1 instead.
  • error (500) — Something failed on our side. Retry later or contact support@nexusconnect.live.
