General
What is Nexus Connect?
Nexus Connect is a live polling, quiz, and game platform built for pep rallies, assemblies, and classroom moments. Teachers, activities directors, and student leaders alike launch a game from their browser, students join from their phones, and everyone's answers show up live on the big screen.
What games are included?
Nexus Connect includes a large variety of games including live polls and more interactive games. Some games are Standard, some are Premium, and some Standard games have a bonus feature which can be unlocked by certain plans. See our Games page for the full lineup. How many games — and which tiers — you get access to depends on your plan: Free includes 1 Standard game for up to 60 participants, Basic includes 3 Standard games of your choice, Pro includes 4 Standard games (with any bonus features on the ones you pick) plus 2 Premium games, and Max includes everything. See our Pricing page for more details.
Do students need to download an app or create an account?
No. Students join from any phone's browser using your school's unique link — no downloads, no accounts, no sign-ups required.
What devices do I need to run an event?
Any device with a modern web browser and an internet connection works. You'll want a laptop or browser connected to a projector or screen to display the live game, and participants just need a phone or any device with a browser.
Getting Started
How do I start hosting events?
Create a free school organizer account, choose a game, and share your school's unique link with participants. The whole setup takes a couple of minutes.
What do I need to unblock for Nexus Connect?
Contact your school or district IT department to unblock the following:
- fallback.nexusconnect.live
- clerk.nexusconnect.live
- img.clerk.com
- Your school's unique link, found in your admin dashboard.
- Any custom domain you've set up for your school.
If your school uses Google or Microsoft sign-in for students, also unblock:
- Google: accounts.google.com, oauth2.googleapis.com, www.googleapis.com
- Microsoft: login.microsoftonline.com
- Using your district's own identity provider instead? Ask your IT department for its domain.
One more thing: unblocking the domain isn't always enough on its own. Live events run over a WebSocket connection, so if a game still won't load after the domain is unblocked, ask IT to also allow WebSocket (wss://) traffic to that domain — some content filters block it separately from regular HTTPS.
How do students join a live game?
They enter your school's unique link, are given a fun temporary name, and they're in — no waiting room, no setup.
Can I customize games for my school?
Yes — game selection is customizable on every plan, game management allows you to manage games to fit your school, and custom branding is available on the Max plan.
Pricing & Billing
How does billing work?
Plans are billed annually through Stripe. You can view or update your billing details anytime through the Stripe management portal linked in your admin dashboard.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from the Stripe management portal linked in your admin dashboard.
Are there refunds?
Subscriptions are billed annually and are non-refundable except where required by law. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Privacy & Data
Is student data collected or stored?
Unless you have enabled SSO, no personally identifiable information is required from student participants. Each student gets a temporary, randomly generated profile for that session only, and all session data is permanently wiped the moment the event ends. See our Privacy Policy for full details. If SSO is enabled, student data is handled within our secure servers and we only collect exactly what's needed: email and username. It is then safely stored on our database for future sessions within your tenant.
Where is data hosted?
All data is hosted on secure servers located in the United States. See our Privacy Policy for more details on our infrastructure and third-party processors.
